Case Study: Career Coaching
We were recently approached by a senior executive, Peter, who had been made redundant. After many years of successfully building businesses and moving up the career ladder by responding to opportunities that had presented themselves to him, the reality of being out of work and having to look for a new role was proving to be unexpectedly difficult. Peter had applied for several advertised roles but despite progressing through several interview rounds, had not secured a new position and was losing confidence. We agreed to see him as his credentials on paper were very good and he had a strong track record of success.
Working with one of our career coaches and using our career questioning techniques, Peter was able to become much more proactive in his search for a new role. Armed with a clear view of where his core strengths lay, clarity on his values and goal, as well as a comprehensive list of target organisations for whom he would like to work and in what capacity, we were able to secure him a job offer within nine weeks. Peter’s new role fits him perfectly because it was tailor made for him by the Global Head of Sales. Like all tailor made goods it cost him dear (in terms of time) but he will enjoy the quality long after he has forgotten the price!
